Project: Grand Arcade, Deck Waterproofing
Client: Bovis Lend Lease
Since opening, Grand Arcade has gone from strength-to-strength with impressive visitor numbers reaching over 8 million in its first year of trading. Designed to contain over 50 stores and cafés, in the centre of Cambridge, and spread out over 450,000 sq ft, it was vital that sufficient parking be made available to service shoppers during their visit. The complex, hosts a 950-space car park and a 500-space cycle park.
As a ‘new build’ project, the construction relied upon the specialist skills of many different trades working for an array of sub-contractors, all under the management of Bovis Lend Lease. Chosen for their knowledge and experience in delivering high quality deck membranes APA Concrete Repairs Ltd were contracted to install a coloured, flexible, waterproof wearing coating to seal and protect exposed and upper decks of the car park, the approved system for this project was Sikafloor Car Park Membrane System.
